The history of Dermatology in San
Francisco is extant and should be venerated. San Francisco is widely
considered "the best place on earth." Not everybody agrees, but it
has been home to some of the most original and creative dermatologists
in North America and even from the whole world.
Dr. "Gus" Rees clearly fits that mold. While Gus
was the doyen of clinical dermatology in San Francisco who introduced methotrexate
for the therapy of psoriasis, he wrote with unique elan and sparkling sense
of humor.
In 1975, Gus wrote an appraisal of San Francisco Dermatologists
mentioning those who were deceased among his friends and collaborators.
We present an update of the San Francisco history including additional
friends who became the forebears of our society. |
