Mission

The Skin Disease Research Foundation (SDRF) is a non-profit organization.  Its primary function is to provide educational opportunities to those interested in research in skin and skin diseases.

History

The SDRF was founded in 1961.  The SDRF has been effectively involved in providing funds required to initiate research activities.  The SDRF House accommodated for many years as the quarters of young researchers while they are in training.  The SDRF has supported functions of quality programs in the field of dermatology, ie.- The Advanced Seminars of Dermatology, Pacific Skin Research Club and Friends of Bill Reed Club.

Current Activities

1) Presentation of the updated version of Dermatologists of San Francisco, originally written by Rees B Rees, M.D. in 1975.  The website may be the most comprehensive history of dermatologists who played important roles in San Francisco.

2) Fellowship to scientific activities in dermatological research.

3) Support for the Bill Reed Lecturers.

4) Planning and organization for the next Pacific Skin Research Club meeting.
