I was invited as the first non-Pacific member because Professor Izaki was interested in fibrinolysis on which I was then working. I traveled with my family and the two children were given very special attention.
The photograph shows Professor Izaki seated with us watching a conjurer whom he had hired to entertain them at one of the receptions.
I met him on several occasions in many parts of the world and he was always accompanied by his gentle wife. His then young son and other members of his Department made up a family team that was always good company and enlightening. |
